Easy and Convenient Valuations based on your needs

Summary of services and costs:
I write valuation reports tailored to your needs and purpose as valuations differ across marketplaces and time. Our pricing starts at $25 for limited scope of work up to $150 for more comprehensive valuations.

Start with the preliminary valuation for $30 flat fee per item. Great option to give you an idea what the item is and it's worth "as is". Simply email me a request and I will help from there.

This will help you to decide whether to value or authenticate an item in more detail or not. This flat fee will be credited towards further costs to value the item if you so decide.

The good news is the preliminary valuation should suffice for most insurance valuations and updates too. A cost effective and fast way to get the answers you need!

Our pricing is based on the Scope of Work and in line with our Scope of practice of every assignment therefore based on client needs the amount of work and price can be established.

For standard assignments there are fixed prices per item however we offer a volume based discount based on the amount of items that require the same scope of work.
  • For our limited appraisal assignments prices start at $30 per item and more than 10 we offer $20 per item.
  • More complete appraisal assignments prices start at $120 per item and $100 for more than 5.
  • Typical insurance replacement cost valuation will be $50 per item with standard limitations.
  • We offer preliminary appraisals at a flat rate of $30 per item that is a restrictive valuation to give an idea of what it is “as-is” and whether it is worth valuing further. These costs will be credited towards further services on the item if required by you. This would be good starting point to see if a more comprehensive valuation is worth pursuing for a client.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why different types of valuation I thought there they all the same?
Value of an item depends on numerous factors. Any property fixed or movable have different values depending on the marketplace(s) , time of sale and level of intended use. Therefore one can have many ranges in values for an item. Value in the market for highest and best use can be quite different from a forced liquidation fire sale.

Due to these different levels in markets, differing needs and different uses the value do vary.

Reports can be for insurance for a public consumer, auction of an estate, divorce proceeding, resell to public or trade, historical pieces with provenance, tax values and value of goods in seizure from government etc.
Why is our prices lower than others? Can I do a valuation online only?
Guided by our Code of Ethics we charge according to the time needed and the reporting needs per item. Professional valuators that understand valuation know that not all valuations are the same and over or under charging for work does not make sense. Needs differ therefore the amount of work needed too per assignment. The more limiting the factors the less the cost usually is however this could suffice for a particular customer need.

Example Online valuations are quite possible and a report can be done however the inherent limitations to an online appraisal is quite severe and the report will be subject to such limits however based on these limits a value can be assigned. In the end the question is based on what the customer needs are and how the assignment must be conducted to achieve those needs.
How long does it take to value?
Preliminary valuations can normally be done same or next day, time depending. More comprehensive assignments and authentication can take longer usually 5 working days.

Special assignments can take weeks or months but these are usually based on an hourly rate.
Are you qualified to appraise personal property?
I am able to provide General appraiser supervisor and coordinator services. therefore if a full estate needs to be valued I can source the appropriate valuators and experts as needed.

I can do all the arranging for a large range of personal property valuation assignment. This can be discussed prior to engagement.
What is your starting price? Do you do more than only jewellery?
I start at $30 for a limited preliminary valuation, this helps people to decide for a nominal amount whether an item is worth valuing further or what it is.

My specialty is gems and jewels , however I have a network of antique and art specialists for broader scope of work beyond jewellery. I can provide services for most movable property.
Can you do remote valuations?
Yes we can do remote valuations in two ways;

First is to travel to remote areas for valuations there will be additional charges per hour and for travelling in such a case.

Second is Online valuations. This is a new field in valuating albeit limited in function. This is a good option to get a limited scope yet a value on an item, and some insights into an item to consider valuing further with less limitations in a follow up report.
? How does the process work?
It is basically a 3 step process:
1. We get in touch discuss the needs, scope of work,, pricing and timing
2. I view and inspect the item as per agreed scope, research and write my valuation
3. Document(s) is emailed upon final payment. I archive my work for future reference for my customers.
I need you to come to our premises can you do that?
I understand at times people prefer not to move their valuables around especially everything at once. I am more than willing to travel to my customers and do the needed work on site. This ensures more privacy and convenience to customers.

Extra travel costs and time will have to be factored in however this can be done prior to the start of an assignment.
